I think I decided I want to start a series on my blog. A music series! I seriously listen to music 24/7. All day at work that is what keeps me in a good mood and dancing in my chair. When I am in the car, I belt it out and I dance. My most favorite drive are when Jared turn on the 20 on 20 station on sirius XM, and just sing and dance while driving. Last weekend we had so much fun we took the long way back from the BYU game just to jam. Also my talented musician husband is always playing guitar at home. Seriously at least 3 times a night I fall asleep listening to him play acoustic songs (he won't sing to me though), and the other 4 days… metal music on Rock Smith. Not so romantic ;) Anyway, there are some songs that just make my heart really happy, and in turn make me a happier person, I thought maybe my music could make you happy too. I mentioned a few songs earlier this week, and for some reason I feel like I am sharing a hidden gift that will make everyone dance around the world. I listened to lots of different music depending on my mood, the day, the weather, the temperature. And so on… So here is my list for the week. The songs I am lovin very most. I will give you some background on the songs too. Because that's just my style.
I seriously want your feedback too, tell me what your jam is this week. I want more music always.
Number one Gun - The best of you and me
This was a song that Jared and I listened to a lot when we first met. I remember listening to it camping at a KOA a few years ago, and I just started to get butterflies in my stomach. Then I found out last week that Jeff is the only guy in this band! He also tracks all the instruments and does the vocals, can you even believe how amazing he sounds? He has a gorgeous voice and I think this is definitely one of my favorite songs ever. We actually used it on our
wedding video, and when I hear this song behind that footage it makes me freeze. I love songs like that.
The Cinema - Picasso
The cinema was created after Lydia broke up, because Mindy White left the band. I was head over heels for Lydia, but it was like rainy day music, and the cinema is more up beat. Plus Leighton's voice makes me want to buy him a puppy (highest form of endearment). Their entire album makes me happy, but this is definitely the single on the CD if ya know what I mean.
Reba - Somebodys Chelsea
This is one of those songs that I am in love with. Every single time it comes on my iTunes or iPod then I replay it at least two or three times. This song makes me cry, I love old people. I love old love stories, and I absolutely love a man who loves his one and only women. Could you imagine sitting on a plane talking to this man? You'd cry too. Then you'd be happy. Everyone wants to be somebody's chelsea. A part of a love story that has no end. I mean does it get any cuter.
The Sounds - Something to Die For
Josh, my twin in law, showed me this band when we were up at the cabin playing scrabble. I have no idea what it is about their techno girl sound, but it draws me in. They are incredibly talented.
Foreign Fix - Shameless
This is Taylor Hartley, he actually played at my wedding. I lived next to him for a few years. He does all the instruments himself and then records them separately and mixes them. Of course, he does vocals too. He has two CDs that are Eps out, and no joke I listen to them both on replay anytime that I need a pick me up.
Eye Alaska - Through Willow and Streams
First of all if you love this song, I am sorry. This band broke up and the new project is not nearly as good (according to me).. I first heard this band live a few years ago at a little local show, and thought their mix or jazz and rock was way too weird. Didn't like it all. Now I cherish their CD. I think it was mad talent, and I sometimes get cravings to hear them.
Flipsyde - Angel
My roommate Jenny, made me a mixCD. She is funny isn't she? Well On this CD I didn't know any artists, and this was one of the songs. It is kind of funny, but it's all about this guy saying his mom is and angel, and she's working with god to keep him out of trouble. I also like that it's about Alabama, because after seeing sweet home alabama, I didn't think there was anything bad there, just blood hounds and pretty lakes. See how naive I can be.
